Universal Music Group — Dan Morales, Alexandra Lioutikoff
UMG has announced the appointment of Dan Morales as its new Chief Information Officer. Morales moves over from eBay, where he served in a similar capacity.
Elsewhere, Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has bumped Alexandra Lioutikoff to executive vice president, Latin music, with oversight over all U.S. Latin and Latin American operations. Lioutikoff’s promotion comes just three years after joining the company.
Deezer — Laurence Miall-d’Août
Deezer reports that Miall-d’Août has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for the music streaming service. She’ll join the service on April 2nd; previously she served as the VP of advanced data and advertising at Liberty Global.
MediaTech Ventures — Ted Cohen
MediaTech Ventures has named Ted Cohen as Head of Corporate Development. The company is an investment fund and incubator focused on the intersection of music, entertainment, and technology.
WME Nashville — Bobby Cudd
William Morris Endeavor has announced that music agent Bobby Cudd is joining its Nashville office. The well-known agent brings with him David Rawlings, The Doyle & Debbie Show, Gillian Welch, I’m With HER, Junior Brown, Kasey Chambers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Robert Earl Keen, Ricky Skaggs, and more.
InChorus Group — Genevieve O’Neil
Genevieve O’Neil is joining InChrous Group as CMO. She previously served as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for Live Nation Entertainment brands like Ticketmaster and Festival Republic.
CMT – The Restructuring Continues…
CMT has announced a restructuring plan that includes several departments integrating into Viacom Media Network’s music group. The Nashville-based marketing team will be exiting the company as the New York office effectively takes over. That means lots of layoffs, with as many as dozens potentially exiting.
The reorganization first began in October of 2018, when CMT was placed under Chris McCarthy’s direction. McCarthy is president of MTV, VH1 and Logo Media.
Among the latest changes:
- Anthony Barton, Head of CMT marketing, is departing.
- Suzanne Norman, Head of the Nashville office, is departing.
- Frank Tanki, CMT general manager, departed October 2018
Edel AG — Even More Restructuring…
German independent record company Edel AG has announced some changes in its leadership and legal structure. The firm completed filings to transition from a public limited company to a European Company, changing the name to Edel SE & Co. KGaA.
As part of the transition, Edel CEO Michael Haentjes is stepping down after several decades and will be handing responsibilities to his son, Dr. Jonas Haentjes.
Neste Live! – Ron Pateras
Ron Pateras is joining Neste Live! as a talent buyer. In that role, Pateras will help full-service event marketing companies expand their businesses. Neste Live! was recently acquired by Live Nation Entertainment.
