Neil Jones, 37, unexpectedly revealed he enjoyed getting “stuck on” his Strictly Come Dancing partner Alex Scott, 35, when the pair suffered a mishap during their Argentine Tango tonight. The professional dancer and the former Arsenal footballer became entangled towards the end of the routine as his microphone got caught on her dress.
The duo’s choice of song, Never Tear Us Apart by INXS, became very apt as host Tess Daly ran over to help to separate them after the dance.
Neil could be heard telling Alex her sequinned costume was “stuck to his shirt”.
He then opted to carry her over to the judges, reassuring the Strictly hopeful, “I’ll carry you”.
When presenter Tess noticed the issue, she cried out: “Oh you’re stuck together!”
Alex and Neil placed at the bottom of the leaderboard with 26 points out of a possible 40 after their dance mishap.
Craig criticised the routine, which he said lacked a freedom of movement “downstairs”, in reference to Alex’s legs.
He explained: “I thought it was very heavy and flat-footed, you need to use your feet a lot more in this dance, that… section I thought you looked like you were churning butter than reacting.
“This dance is all about the lady reacting to the man’s lead and every time you do a kick, it has to be loose and it also has to be a reaction to what he is doing to you, and it felt like you were just determined to get it done you were too tense downstairs.”
