The 36-year-old professional dancer addressed whether he saw himself becoming a father in the future following the exciting news his Strictly Come Dancing co-star Gorka Marquez, 28, and Gemma Atkinson, 34, are expecting their first child. “It’s amazing news for them,” he told OK! Magazine. When asked if he would like to be a dad, Kevin Clifton replied: “Who knows? I’m 36 but I still feel 21.

“Anyway, as everyone found out on Sunday Brunch, I can’t even crack an egg so how would I look after a baby?!” he joked.

The Grimsby-born Strictly favourite also spoke out about his love life, saying dating wasn’t high on his list of priorities at the moment.

“I haven’t been concentrating on it to be honest,” he said.

“I’m not really looking for it, I’m just getting on with my thing.”

Kevin and Karen, 36, confirmed their split last year after months of rumours their marriage was on the rocks.

While they remain partners professionally, even touring the UK shortly after the announcement, they separated as a couple.

During an interview on Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, Kevin explained the split was amicable, saying: “Privately we are not together anymore but professionally we are stronger than ever before.

“Dance is how we came together and is what glues us together.

“We’re still the best of friends — we still have a lot of love and respect for each other,” he continued. “What we’ve found is, since we’ve been honest with each other, it’s unlocked out creativity.”

Meanwhile, Kevin said the level of scrutiny he faces in his private life as a member of the Strictly cast.

“It used to bother me but I don’t worry now,” he said. “I’m really happy.”

While he is currently thought to be single, Karen has moved on with a new boyfriend, opera singer David Webb.

She has not yet spoken publicly about their relationship, but the pair can often be seen posting about each other on social media.

Both Kevin and Karen are confirmed to the returning to Strictly Come Dancing later this year, after the professional line-up was revealed last month.

With an influx of new, younger dancers joining the cast last year, including Johannes Radebe, 31, and Graziano Di Prima, 24, Kevin, as one of the oldest dancers on the show, admitted he feels the desire to “prove” himself.

“They’re younger and fitter than me so I want to prove to myself that I can still do it to their level,” he said.
