Tipping Point presenter Ben Shephard, 44, took to Instagram to share a video of himself and his wife Annie enjoying a day out together in the countryside earlier this month.

In view of his 258,000 followers, Ben began the clip by showing his fans the couple’s idyllic surroundings.

He then panned the camera around to the pair, tellings fan they were enjoying “20 minutes peace”(sic).

Ben captioned the video: “Had lovely stroll and sit with the Mrs earlier – (she has been ill with pneumonia I know weird huh, good news is she’s well on the mend).

“But was wondering, what’s your tolerance for sitting doing nothing, just, you know thinking? 10mins/20mins/30? 1 hour? More?

“I’m told you can get better at it and I like the idea of meditation or being present in the moment – but just can’t seem to do it for more than a few minutes max if that! #meditationfail.”

Ben’s post prompted many of his social media fans to send their well wishes.

One user commented: “Give her a big kiss from us!!”

A second wrote: “Glad she’s on mend, 10 mins for me I can’t sit still… hope yous had a lovely day xx.”

“Hope Annie is feeling better soon Ben make sure u spoil her,”(sic) a third added.

Ben’s post comes just days after he announced he has stepped down from his role on Goals on Sunday after nine years.

In view of his 705,000 followers, he wrote: “Morning all- So after 9 seasons + nearly 400 shows the time has come to hang up my @GoalsOnSunday boots.

“I’ve loved working with @chris_kammy + know we’ll have more adventures to come!

“Thanks to our viewers, guests, + @SkySports it’s has, as Kammy would say been ‘Unbelievable!’”.

Ben later told The Mirror he chose to step down from his position to spend more time with his family.

The presenter who shares sons Jack, 14, and Sam, 12, with Annie, said the couple’s teenagers are “at an age when they need me around”.

He said: “They’re consumed by school work all week, the weekend is the only time I can spend with them.”

“Jack got upset recently because I haven’t been able to go to his cricket matches.

“We had conversations and I reassured him it would soon be over.”

The host’s Good Morning Britain co-star Piers Morgan, 54, reacted to Ben Shephard’s news on Twitter.

Piers shared Ben’s tweet in view of his 6.72 million followers with the caption: “Great run, Mr Shephard – congrats!”
